Incoming PO Students
Incoming Prosthetics and Orthotics (PO) students have access to a 15-month health insurance plan that aligns with your academic calendar.- To minimize your costs, the plan has one deductible ($300) and out of pocket maximum ($2,500 in-network, only).

Returning PO Students
To accommodate PO billing cycles, as well as any applicable posting of Financial Aid disbursements, open enrollment for returning PO students begins June 18.- Returning PO students are charged the NU-SHIP premium during the June billing cycle, when your tuition and fees are billed.
- We encourage you to complete your annual insurance selection before the end of June, to ensure Financial Aid disbursements are accurately applied to all pending charges on your account.
The table below outlines your 2026-27 NU-SHIP coverage period, premium cost, and open enrollment period to either confirm or waive NU-SHIP enrollment:
