Mentor youth. Build experience. Earn credit.

May 25

Through weekly after-school sessions in Chicago Public Schools, mentors teach middle schoolers strategies for managing stress and trauma. Mentors take a fall quarter course f on youth development, then spend the academic year leading and facilitating as part of a supportive cohort. Develop meaningful relationships, build skills, and make an impact! .

Grounding for Public Service (GPS)

Every Tuesday from 5-6pm, Parkes Hall 120

GPS is a weekly learning and connecting space focused on learning more about Evanston and Chicago through a social justice lens. We always enjoy a free dinner. Everyone is welcome. We meet every Tuesday in Parkes Hall 120 from 5-6pm. Learn more here.


CSAW's Opioid Overdose Prevention and Naloxone Training

This one-hour training is for students who are interested in being trained to administer Narcan (naloxone). Attendees will learn how to recognize signs of an opioid overdose, identify when it is appropriate to use Narcan, learn how to administer Narcan to an individual they believe is experiencing an overdose, and identify additional emergency steps to take. All attendees will receive a two-pack of Narcan upon completion of the training. !

Wednesday Wellness Walks are your midweek mood boost! Lace up and join CSAW for a fun, feel-good walk around campus as we celebrate Mental Health Awareness Month. Move your body, soak up some fresh air, and connect with others. Bring a friend, wear comfy shoes, and let’s walk and talk our way to better well-being! .


Theater Outing w/CSAW | Octet @ Raven Theater

Join Eric & Daniel from CSAW for a super special night to see Dave Malloy’s Octet, a completely a capella musical about a support group of eight people exploring their internet addictions. After the performance, we will have a talk-back discussion with the incoming artistic director of The Raven, Jonathan Berry.


Queer Survivor Group

CSAW’s Queer Survivor Group is a six-week group open to all ²ÝÝ®´«Ã½ students who identify as queer and as survivors of interpersonal violence. The group will offer a queer-affirming space for members to process harmful experiences, connect with fellow queer survivors, and gain skills and frameworks for healing. .


Craft and Dine: Zentli

June 1, Transportation will be covered by MSA, Zentli: 1813 Dempster Street 

Join us for an interactive art and dining experience with Latino Artist and Evanston Restaurant owner, Piloto. Piloto will guide us through two transformative art-making activities, discuss his community-engaged art practice, and we will dine on Mexican street food from his restaurant Zentli. .


CSAW's Alcohol, Cannabis and Other Drugs Consultations

The Center for Student Advocacy and wellness offer Alcohol, Cannabis and Other Drug consultations for students who are interested in exploring more about their use of substances. If you have questions or want to learn more about harm reduction in a confidential one on one setting with a health educator from CSAW. !


Wellness Coaching

Wellness Coaching is a collaborative, non-judgmental process to help you identify and achieve your health and wellness goals related to: physical activity, sleep, healthy eating, time management, and stress management/coping skills. Sessions are one-on-one, confidential, and free for all ²ÝÝ®´«Ã½ students.


Wildcats in Recovery - NU's Collegiate Recovery Community!

The Center for Student Advocacy and Wellness (CSAW) presents "Wildcats in Recovery" - a Collegiate Recovery Program (CRP) that supports students in recovery from substance use disorders, process addictions, and eating disorders. We aim to bring students together and provide them with the necessary resources to excel here at ²ÝÝ®´«Ã½!

After Dillo Day, all yards and homes must be cleaned up before 10 a.m. on 5/17. Join the annual Post-Dillo Day Cleanup event where students and staff work to leave the neighborhood better than we found it. Student Affairs will provide breakfast, gloves and garbage bags, and volunteers have the chance to win prizes!
